Florida

Last time I blogged we were in Florida :-) my first time out of the island since moving to puerto Rico. I have to say I'm glad I waited. Had I gone back to the states any earlier I would not have come back due to homesickness.

Needless to say I had a list of things i had to do and accomplished most :-) I went to target and it was the best feeling ever!!!! Of course I went to pick up some make up!!! And snacks lol

We ate checkers it was so good it hasn't changed, which I'm glad, cause I LOVE their fries with ranch dressing. We also ate at TGIF which we don't have here either had an awesome long island :-) ate some potato skins and steak yumm. Went to the dollar store and are at a wonderful sea food restaurant loaded up on the crab legs!!

Anyways so good to be back !! More pics coming ok!!

Where have I been?!?

Sorry about the long pause, delay, absence. It has been quite busy here in the island. We have had family and friends visiting and I'm working while they are here. So every chance I get I'm either taking the sight seeing, beach, shopping, eating and when able I'm cleaning, doing laundry and trying my best not to fall behind on things.

But I have not forgotten about my blog though it may seem like I did. So continuing on with the adventure!!'

Today

My first day back at work and it was a beautiful day plus it's Friday people are happy and spending. Around 12:15pm we loose power. Nothing new usually the generator kicks in so we don't worry too much but this time it didn't kick in and we had to go old school. Handwritten receipts and calculator.

Come to find out the whole island had a blackout. There was some storms that where passing through but many were blaming the lack of maintenance. There was chaos all over and of course it's all they are talking about on the news. That's why I am big on being prepared and having an emergency kit because we didn't have anything close to a hurricane and this happens. Just glad to be home and not in the streets.

We are back!

I'm tired! We flew in last night and I am feeling it. The flight was short thank goodness about 3 hours. We got puerto Rico glad to be back home. I wondered how i would feel about puerto Rico once I left it but I actually missed it so I take it that's a good sign?

We visited the Tampa and fort Myers area and the weather was not what we were hoping for. The storm Debbie was in full effect and make driving a little hard but we has fun regardless. I got to go to target!!! I picked up a couple of things I have a budget so couldn't go that crazy but I can get someone to send me what I want later.

I am now in the process of unpacking why is that never fun? Well I know one things I over packed :-( so I have a lot to put up. The weather here is gorgeous!! Blue and sunny with a breeze.

So this is all the makeup I brought lol a lil much right. I put it in a shoe box do it was fit nice and tight.

Missing in action

I apologize for the lack of posts I have been in florida :-) it has been wonderful! We go back to puerto Rico tomorrow so just doing some last minute shopping. Nothing's crazy I did want to go to the dollar stores here they are way better than the ones in puerto Rico. And of course target!!! I got some makeup earlier in the trip but i am thinking of going back for more ;-)

It has been raining a lot but it still do nice to be with friends chilling over wine and relaxing. Can't wait to show you all pics soon!!!

Holidays

Tomorrow is fathers day and everything will be closed. Yup you heard me right. In puerto Rico they close for the normal holidays like thanksgiving, christmas, new years, memorial and labor day. But they also close for 3 wise men, mothers day, fathers day, and like 10 other holidays. So we had to get a puerto rican calendar to know when the banks and post offices will be closed. Especially the grocery stores dont want to be left with nothing to eat. So I guess it's a nice thing, more days I have off. And if the holiday falls on a weekend, for example we work Friday and the holiday falls on a Sunday, we get holiday pay no matter what it is I like that part too!
